Overview

Physical Learning Environments (PLEs), particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), often struggle with outdated designs, inaccessibility, vulnerability to hazards, unhealthy conditions, and inefficient energy use. The RIGHT+ framework, developed by the World Bank, provides an evidence-based approach to improve the educational impact of PLE interventions. This online course introduces participants to the principles of designing resilient, inclusive, green, healthy, and learning-conducive spaces, along with strategies for effective implementation. It consists of four modules with a total duration of approximately 2.5 hours, including theory, frameworks, and practical application. Learners are encouraged to read the Approach Note and explore additional resources at worldbank.org/ple for deeper insights.
