Overview

The new Vienna Development Knowledge Center serves as a platform for policymakers and practitioners in Europe and Central Asia, including from the private sector, to exchange expertise and generate innovative solutions for pressing development challenges such as economic pressures and demographic shifts. The Center builds on the long-standing partnership between Austria and the World Bank Group, where various knowledge programs on topics such as financial sector reform, investment climate, climate change, water management and urban development - under the umbrella of the ECA Cities and Climate Change Program - have been developed in recent years. The Center fosters knowledge sharing, policy reforms as well as finding practical development solutions. During 20205, a series of Technical Deep Dives (TDD) will be held that will focus on the interlinkages between urban development and the urban mobility and energy sectors.
