This course explores integrated land use as a strategic approach to balancing agriculture, forestry, urban development, and conservation within a given landscape. It highlights how thoughtful planning can optimize socio-economic and environmental benefits while minimizing conflicts and unsustainable resource use. Participants will gain understanding on how integrated land use supports biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation, social inclusion, and economic development. The course is divided into two parts: Part 1 covers stakeholder engagement, environmental sustainability, economic benefits, and boundary setting, while Part 2 focuses on land tenure, financing, monitoring, and cross-sectoral coordination.
