The Trade Facilitation Support Program (TFSP) works to improve cross-border trade environments and align trade practices with the World Trade Organization (WTO) Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA). It focuses on identifying trade constraints, designing reform strategies, and enhancing the predictability, transparency, and harmonization of trade procedures according to international standards. The program also addresses broader issues, including gender, digitalization, public health, food safety, climate, and emergency preparedness. Key areas include ratifying the WTO TFA, conducting gap assessments, strengthening National Trade Facilitation Committees, and increasing digitalization through Trade Information Portals and Single Windows. TFSP has a proven track record of improving trade efficiency in 58 countries, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, and uses the TFA Tracking Tool to monitor progress.
