This course addresses the growing challenge of urban heat and its impact on cities and populations. Through four modules, participants will explore the causes and effects of the urban heat island phenomenon and learn about passive and active cooling solutions. It examines the barriers to implementing these solutions and provides a framework for developing inclusive, multi-stakeholder urban cooling policies. Participants will also gain insights into financing mechanisms and successful policies adopted by cities worldwide. The course concludes with actionable recommendations and best practices to guide cities in building heat-resilient urban environments.
