This course provides an in-depth introduction to the joint World Bank-IMF Debt Sustainability Framework for Low-Income Countries. Participants will learn how to analyze debt dynamics, conduct stress tests, assess debt sustainability relative to country-specific thresholds, and incorporate judgment in evaluating debt distress risks. Through presentations, case studies, and hands-on exercises, the training will also cover debt vulnerabilities related to climate change and domestic debt financing.

Overview

This courses offers a comprehensive training on the Debt Sustainability Framework for Low-Income Countries (LIC DSF), developed by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. It covers key aspects such as forward-looking debt analysis, stress tests, realism tools, and country-specific debt burden thresholds to assess debt sustainability and the risk of debt distress. Participants will gain hands-on experience using the LIC DSF template through case studies and exercises, enabling them to conduct their own debt sustainability analysis. The training also provides guidance on incorporating debt vulnerabilities related to climate change and domestic debt financing.
